Anne has been working with fiber since her first exploration with clothing construction as a young girl. She has been weaving for 16 years. She comes by these skills naturally as her foremothers were skilled seamstresses and family legend talks about her great-great-grandparents having a farm and sheep shearing business in the "old country."
Anne takes great pleasure in creating special wall hangings. Her "Women’s History Quilt" hangs on permanent display at the Montgomery County Commission for Women's office in Rockville. This wall hanging was created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the CFW, recognizing 30 women of historical significance to Montgomery County.
Anne's Family Tree series came out of a desire to show someone what their roots were. A custom chuppah showing the roots of the bride and groom make a beautiful heirloom gift. A single tree will be a welcome piece of art for the baby's room.
Anne is a member of the Potomac Craftsmen Fiber Gallery. The gallery is located in Studio 18 of the Torpedo Factory Art Center at 105 North Union Street, Old Town Alexandria, on the waterfront. Washington, DC's first co-operative fiber gallery has 70 members. She also serves as President of the board of the Potomac Craftsmen Fiber Guild, and was named 2007 Member of the Month by Woman Business Owners of Montgomery County, MD.
