Anne has been working with fiber since her first exploration with clothing construction as a young girl. She has been weaving for more than 20 years. She comes by these skills naturally as her foremothers were skilled seamstresses and family legend talks about her great-great-grandparents having a farm and sheep shearing business in the "old country."
Anne takes great pleasure in creating special wall hangings. Anne's Family Tree series came out of a desire to show someone what their roots were. Her "Women’s History Quilt" hangs on permanent display at the Montgomery County Commission for Women's office in Rockville. This wall hanging was created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Commission, recognizing 30 women of historical significance to Montgomery County.
Anne is a resident artist at FiberArtStudio@VisArts, The Metropolitan Center for Visual Arts in the Rockville Town Center, Rockville, MD, sharing space with 7 other fiber artists in Studio 210.
Anne is a member of the Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery. The gallery is located in Studio 18 of the Torpedo Factory Art Center at 105 North Union Street, Old Town Alexandria, on the waterfront. Washington, DC's first co-operative fiber gallery has 70 members. Her work can also be found at a gallery in The Plains, VA: Live An Artful Life, on Main Street.
She is immediate past President of the board of the Potomac Fiber Arts Guild. Anne was named 2007 Member of the Month by Woman Business Owners of Montgomery County, MD, and is the past president of that organization. She served on the Montgomery County Commission for Woman for seven years, three as president. She is also a member of Leadership Montgomery, and previously served as vice president for membership.
